Faces Places / Visages Villages

  • Astor Community Theatre (map)

In 2015, nearly 90-year-old Agnes Varda embarked on a road trip across rural France with her young photographer friend ‘JR’. This delightfully quirky, Oscar-nominated documentary is the result. The unlikely friends took portraits of locals that they met, blowing these images up to gigantic size and plastering them over the landscape. A unique, moving and uplifting journey that captures the playful spirit of the French New Wave.

There will be a ‘Where To Begin With…’ introduction to Varda’s work before the film - and a chance to have your picture taken with the lady herself!
